Academic Associates: Achieving Reading and Math Success!

Question:How long does your program take?
Answer: Ultimately this depends on the pace of the student. Some students catch on quickly and others move more slowly while others will need to have learning disabilities diagnosed before any progress can be made. That said, it usually takes 30 to 60 lessons, each one hour long, to complete the program.

Question:What do you mean there’s no contract?
Answer:There is no legally binding document for you to sign, allowing you to quit whenever you need to. We do however have a courtesy policy that we have each client agree to before the first lesson.

Question:Will you talk with my children’s teachers to develop a learning plan, or address my child’s learning issues?
Answer:Yes, we would be happy to communicate with your child’s teacher. But, we will do so only if you give permission.

Question:Do you teach other subjects?
Answer:Our tutors have degrees, and some advanced degrees, in various areas covering a wide range of subject matter. In the past we have helped students with statistics, chemistry, algebra, trigonometry and SAT preparation. Give us a call and see if we can help you with your area of concern.

Question:How many times a week do students attend tutoring?
Answer:Usually twice a week for reading and math students. For high school and college subjects the frequency is determined by the students needs.

Question:Do you have reading or math groups?
Answer:No. We have found one-on-one instruction is more beneficial to the student.

Question:What qualifications do your teachers have?
Answer:All our teachers have a bachelors degree or higher, three or more years of experience teaching and have been cleared by the Washington State Patrol to work with children.

Question:Do you tutor in the student’s home?
Answer:Normally we don’t, though special arrangements can be made.
